WebDox is a web content management system.  Basic articles are entered and saved using an online text editor. Photos and documents can be uploaded, and events entered.  You then choose where you want the content to appear, and the system will create webpages, blogs, slideshows, and custom calendars for you.  WebDox generates the code and pages, you generate the content.  It allows for dynamic content without the need for a web designer to make changes to the site.

How Does It work?

WebDox works by inserting articles, pictures, or documents into your site through a web interface.  You choose the basic layout of the site from either pre-designed templates, customization of the templates, or work with our staff to design a full custom site for you, depending on your needs and budget. 

To enter information into the website, you type in an online word processor and link the article in by clicking on the section(s) in which you would like it to appear.  If the article has its own menu item, you can setup the menu link by going to the menu editor, typing in the name of the item you would like, and clicking on the article you saved.  If changes need to be made in the future, simply edit the article.  There is no longer a need to pay a web designer for minor changes to text.  WebDox gives you the power to make changes as often as you like.

Will my site grow with me?

Yes.  WebDox was designed to be flexible.  This means no more “under Construction” signs for your site.  You can setup the basic menu items and generate content to be added after the initial site is up.  Then, when you’re ready, you can add new menu items, or add to pre-existing links in a blog - style format.  You can even post articles for future viewing using a sunrise option and have the system automatically stop displaying an article after a set date.  No more “Happy New Year” wishes still posted in July.

Having a template for the site ensures that all of your pages will have a uniform look and feel, allowing visitors to easily navigate throughout your organization with familiar layouts.  This helps to reinforce branding and a polished, professional look and feel. There are also styles to choose for paragraph and page titles so that colors, sizes, and fonts remain consistent throughout the site, no matter who enters the information.

Because WebDox has a set of core features and additional modules are added in, basic setup packages can be upgraded and new features added as your needs and budget allow.  Your site remains live, but you can purchase additional features when your needs outgrow the current design features.  We also work with you to try anticipating your future needs and make our design and pricing level recommendations with your future growth in mind.

Will it allow for multiple sites within an organization?

Yes.  If your organization has multiple buildings, departments, etc., you can choose to have each setup as a separate “site” within the larger organizational site. Each can have their own menu items and share articles, photos, documents, and events. Items can also be shared across multiple sites and menu items, since everyone shares a common editing interface and database.  These features work together to ensure layout, menu item placement and branding remain consistent throughout the sites while providing for site specific information and smaller design details to remain flexible.

Can I have Multiple Users Entering Data?

Yes.  In fact, WebDox was designed from the ground up with the recognition that one of the simplest ways to ensure a website has dynamic content is to get the tools into the hands of as many qualified individuals as possible across an organization.  Individual users access the management side of your site though their own unique logins (which we will show you how to setup and manage).  You then have the power to choose what tasks they are able to perform, what sections they are allowed to work on, and what articles they are able to create and edit.  If they are able to type, they are candidates for a login and the ability to generate content for your site.  You choose their level of access.  

Do I need additional software?

No.  WebDox has built-in management tools for adding events, creating calendars, creating articles, and managing photos and photo albums and slideshows.  While you may choose to generate content using a standalone word processor or edit your graphics and images using a desktop photo editing package, it is not required that you have these items.  Everything you need to create content and manage your site is provided through the web and made available through your site login.  There is no software to install on your system, and no additional licensing to monitor.  Editors can make changes to the site from anywhere with an internet connection.

Hosting Options

Through our partnership with The Baldwin Group, Inc., we are able to offer a complete end-to-end solution that includes web space and hosting functions for your site.  The server is located in a secure facility, with redundant power and data connections.  We will be happy to provide you with additional information about the security of the hosting station upon request.

Monthly hosting fees are tiered to reflect bandwidth and storage space used on the server.  There are four standard levels, and options for customizing beyond the top tier.  You are billed quarterly, and we will keep track of your monthly usage and alert you when you are approaching the next level of use.  You can move up the levels of monthly traffic or storage by changing your plan.  There is no penalty fee assessed for this service.

Pegasys Computer Technologies, Inc. also has experienced network technicians who can work with you to setup an onsite web hosting server for pre-existing computer service clients.  This option is used by some of our larger clients who may already have internet connections such as a fiber backbone, experience a high level of website traffic and a need to post large volumes of information at regular intervals that results in high bandwidth.
